Kaius 01 Inspection

BMC Switzerland has decided to do a voluntary recall of Kaius 01 Bikes and Framesets. A few cases of separating fork steerer tubes have been brought to their attention.

In a quest to further analyze the issue, it was identified that the product holds up to the requirements of industry testing standards but still a low number of real world gravel riders had issues occur under certain heavy duty circumstances, this doesn’t meet the standards that BMC hold themselves too.

BMC's driving force is to provide products that meet the highest expectations of both athletes and everyday riders, with this in mind, BMC has decided to replace the fork in question with a more robust version.

The Process:

So what’s the process from here?

Step 1

Stop riding your Kaius 01 and take it to your local BMC Retailer or original point of purchase.

Step 2

Your BMC Retailer will perform an inspection on the fork of your Kaius 01. If yours is an affected bike, jump to step 4, if it’s unaffected continue to step 3.

Step 3

Once your BMC retailer has performed the inspection, and yours is an unaffected bike, you may collect your Kaius 01, and continue riding as normal.

Step 4

We are doing everything in our power to make this process as quick and easy as possible. Your BMC Retailer will contact you as soon as the replacement process has been completed at which point you can collect your Kaius 01, and get back to riding.
